This lovely carving of the Hindu Elephant God weighs 2.4 kg and is 7 inches in height. It is believed in Hindu tradition that Lord Ganesha is the first and most auspicious of all Gods, and it is customary to seek his blessings before embarking on any new venture, educational pursuit or journey. Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is considered to be the remover of all obstacles in one's path. As the provider of joy, success, peace, and prosperity, the Lord also manifests in a novel form of 'Panchamukhi Vinayaka'- five faced Ganesha.
