Are you someone whose presence sometimes becomes a reason for other people to feel uncomfortable?
Your energy may get disturbed in such situations, but the other person’s entire day can also be affected.
There is always a better choice: let your presence make people feel good, not uncomfortable.
The same kind of connection can be seen with gemstones too.
When you choose a gemstone for the long term but stop communicating with it, stop caring for it, and stop giving it any attention, you may gradually feel disconnected from it. Instead of building a meaningful relationship with your gemstone, you may start feeling bored, doubtful, or disconnected from the experience.
That is why choosing the right gemstone is only the beginning.
It is equally important to repeatedly connect with it, care for it, respect it, and give yourself enough time to understand how you feel while wearing it. Over time, this relationship can become a source of happiness, clarity, and alignment with your goals.
Life will always bring changes. Some changes may feel uncomfortable, while others may open completely new doors. But when you have the right mindset and a gemstone that you genuinely trust, you may find it easier to move through those changes without constantly feeling confused or overwhelmed.
Here are seven simple rules that can help you build a better relationship with your gemstone.
1. Believe in the gemstone you have chosen
The first and most important thing is trust.
You may have heard different opinions from different people before choosing your gemstone. Even after wearing it, you may continue hearing someone say, “This gemstone is better,” or “You should have worn another one.”
But once you have made your choice, give yourself some peace.
If you have chosen a gemstone after understanding it properly, then trust your decision. You do not have to keep changing your mind because of every opinion you hear.
2. Ignore unnecessary opinions
Once you start wearing a gemstone, avoid constantly listening to what everyone else says about it.
Someone may tell you that their gemstone worked immediately. Someone else may tell you that another gemstone is more powerful. Another person may tell you that you need a combination of gemstones.
You do not need to follow every opinion.
Your experience is personal. Give yourself the space to understand it.
3. Give it time
Sometimes people feel that a gemstone is giving them an immediate result. At other times, they may feel that nothing is happening.
Both experiences can happen.
The important thing is not to become impatient.
Do not decide after a few days that your gemstone is “not working.” Give yourself time, remain patient, and observe yourself rather than constantly searching for external confirmation.
A gemstone should never become a reason for anxiety or overthinking.
4. Be happy when you see your gemstone
This is one of my favourite rules.
Whenever you see your gemstone, feel happy about having it.
You can greet it, appreciate it, hold it for a moment, and simply feel grateful.
It may sound small, but your approach matters. If every time you look at your gemstone you start thinking, “Is it working? Am I wearing the right one? Should I change it?” then the entire experience becomes stressful.
Instead, let your gemstone remind you of your intention and your goals.
5. Stop comparing your gemstone with others
Please do not keep looking at other gemstones just because you have been wearing yours for six or seven months.
“Maybe I should try another gemstone.”
“Maybe that one is more powerful.”
“Maybe I need three or four gemstones together.”
This constant comparison can create unnecessary confusion.
I have always preferred the idea of understanding one gemstone at a time, especially when you are unsure about combinations.
Gemstone combinations are not necessarily suitable for everyone. There are many factors that should be considered before combining different stones.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of confusion and lack of proper information in the healing and gemstone space. Because gemstones are also a business, people may sometimes receive different recommendations and end up wearing several stones without really understanding why.
Some people believe that wearing many gemstones will somehow bring every planet under their control. But astrology and gemstones are much more nuanced than that.
Your birth chart may contain certain planetary placements that require attention, but that does not automatically mean those planets are going to bring only negative experiences. Sometimes difficult periods can also become opportunities for learning and growth.
This is why understanding your individual situation is important.
And if you are unsure, keep it simple rather than collecting gemstones out of fear.
6. Once you wear your gemstone, stop overthinking
This is extremely important.
Once you have chosen your gemstone, stop constantly questioning it.
Do not spend every day wondering whether it is working, whether you should change it, or whether someone else's gemstone would be better.
Wear it with awareness.
Observe yourself.
Stay patient.
And most importantly, continue living your life.
A gemstone should support your journey, not become another source of stress.
7. Smile and stay present
Last but not least smile.
Whatever problems come into your life, remember that they are also a part of your journey and a phase of your life.
Not everything needs an immediate reaction.
Sometimes you simply need to listen, understand, and let things pass.
Stay connected to the present.
And whenever you wear or carry your gemstone, try to feel good about it. Smile when you see it. Be grateful for what you have. Keep your intentions clear.
A gemstone is not a replacement for your own actions, choices, or responsibility. Your approach matters too.
So choose carefully, trust your decision, care for your gemstone, avoid unnecessary comparison, and most importantly, stay happy while wearing it.
Because the most beautiful relationship you can build with any gemstone is not based on fear.
It is based on trust, patience, awareness & a positive approach.
